From invisible to 101K AI impressions in one quarter

The Boutique Vibe curates independent boutique hotels across the Mediterranean. Travelers had started asking AI for stay recommendations — and the brand never appeared. In 90 days with Rankfender it crossed 101,000 impressions in Google’s AI-generative features, a ~4x climb in daily reach.

01

The challenge

The Boutique Vibe had a beautiful catalog of hand-picked boutique hotels across Greece, Italy, Spain, Croatia and beyond — and solid classic SEO. But travel research had moved: people now ask ChatGPT, Gemini and Google’s AI Overviews things like “romantic boutique hotels in Santorini” or “best small hotels in Puglia,” and the brand simply wasn’t in those answers.

Its destination and hotel pages weren’t structured the way AI systems like to cite them — the specific, comparative, experience-led questions travelers ask an assistant weren’t being answered on the page in a quotable way.

02

What we did with Rankfender

1

Mapped the AI discovery gap

We tracked how seven AI systems answered hundreds of “where should I stay” travel prompts across the brand’s destinations and travel vibes, and found exactly which queries surfaced competitors instead of The Boutique Vibe.

2

Rebuilt destination & hotel pages for citation

Structured data, richer descriptions and traveler-intent FAQ blocks were generated with the Content Engine so each page answered the comparative, experience-led questions assistants ask on the traveler’s behalf.

3

Expanded the editorial discovery layer

Insider guides and “best boutique hotels in…” roundups were produced and published, giving AI systems well-structured, quotable sources that pointed back to bookable properties.

4

Monitored and doubled down weekly

AI Performance tracking showed which destinations started getting cited. We reinforced the winners and reworked the pages that stalled — a tight weekly optimization loop.

03

The results

Within the first 90 days, The Boutique Vibe’s presence in Google’s AI-generative features climbed from a near-flat baseline to a consistent daily flow of impressions — crossing 101,000 total for the quarter.

Daily AI reach grew roughly 4x, from around 600 impressions per day at the start of the window to a steady ~2,500 by early July, across mobile, desktop and tablet. The momentum carried across engines too: Bing’s AI Performance logged 957 citations from Microsoft Copilot and partners over the same quarter, with about four of the brand’s pages cited per answer.
